Passage of SB 364 Eases Solar Industry Concerns in California

SACRAMENTO, Calif. and WASHINGTON, D.C. — Following is a statement from Rick Umoff, California senior director and counsel at the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) on the solar concerns originally raised with the Schools and Communities First Initiative, also known as Proposition 15:
“On behalf of the solar industry, our concerns with Proposition 15 have been remedied by the enactment of Senate Bill 364. This bill addresses unintended impacts of Proposition 15 on utility-scale and commercial solar projects and will allow solar development to move forward in California. SEIA commends the California legislature and Governor Newsom for their efforts to enact SB 364. SEIA and its members do not oppose Proposition 15.”
